It was my first time partaking in this small and calm studio, and I felt immediately welcomed by Arthur and other participants whom I’ve never met. Body & brain is a safe space to pursue your development. I found the sequence to be dynamic, easy-going, and allowed me to move/tap/stretch parts of my body in different ways. Arthur pays close attention to the class for individual guidance/feedback. I would recommend for all!

What a great instructor! Scheduled incorrectly today so I was coming from another exercise class (do not recommend! Take a longer break!), but despite how active this class was, it was still relaxing. I wish I could take Katey’s classes more. Didn’t see any lotion in the locker room but I might have missed it? Otherwise, the amenities are great, class felt community oriented and the instructor asked students and was encouraging about getting a response. This class would be such a great way to get to know fellow yogis because, while it’s intense, it’s also just FUN. Level Up Pilates

This is a really good dynamic, challenging Pilates class for more experienced students. Faster paced than open level and really killer core workout - the trapeze series is so good and so killer every time. You get to move and use the reformer in ways that challenge body and mind. However there is usually at least one person in class who is inexperienced and that holds the class up. If you are a beginner, this is not the class for you. I suggest reading the description of the class before booking to ensure you are signing up for the appropriate class.

Nice studio with different sections for classes. Instructor was a little off at first but warmed up soon after we started and gave a really good class. It was well balanced and incremented slowly to a nice burn. My only complaint about the place is that a gym/studio that has workout classes should offer free water. You shouldn’t have to buy water if you are running low or drink a lot. Might just be me but we should be offered that for the price. Otherwise, a very accessible class for all levels, would come again.

Instructor did a great job of demoing and also going around and checking form. Great class for a beginner, but it will be hard (it’s slightly slower than the full body class and much lighter with no music — music would be very helpful here because it allows me to focus on something else). Room needs a temperature adjustment because it was way too cold; since there’s no pre class stretching, the temperature in this room is dangerous as your body never fully warms up & this is especially true in beginner classes. I’ve never been to a workout class where it was this cold. Hope this changes! Talented instructor but the ambiance could use some adjustments.

    Full Body

So very hard but in a good way 😂 Bethany was so sweet and helpful. She knew I was a first timer and took time to explain the reformer and came by and helped change my springs for every transition, she was encouraging through the workout but not in an anxiety inducing way if you know what I mean haha

    Starter50: Intro To [solidcore]

If you’ve never taken a solidcore class, this is definitely one to start with. The room is oddly laid out but the instructor did a great job of going around and checking on the everyone. I’ve only just started solidcore but I’ve taken (way too) megaformer classes elsewhere & it was only here where I felt like I understood what to do with my body for some of the movements. Even if you’ve done many solidcore classes before, Angela’s starter50 is a must because she is so attentive. Class felt very welcoming, which doesn’t always happen. Grand Central is a bit out of my way but she has a true gift for teaching, so I cannot wait to take some other classes with her! Also, best playlist I’ve heard in a workout class!

    Classic (50 Mins)

So sad this instructor was subbing for a class at Williamsburg location. He was amazing, and many of the moves he showed us I have never done at a Pure Barre class. They definitely worked out muscles that I don’t generally and my obliques and butt are feeling it today! I will warn this class was definitely not for beginners, if you aren’t used to verbal instructions and quick pace this class may be a bit confusing/difficult. Overall, contemplating whether I should make the trek to Union Square for his class.

    High 45

Karolina’s class perfectly combines high energy (great playlist selection!) and training focus. I feel very accomplished afterward having pushed myself because of how she structures our runs!
