    Switch40 - Underground Ab-Lab

The class flies by bc you do so many different exercises. It’s mostly low impact and mostly abs but he throws in a few minutes of calisthenics to get the heart rate up- just be warned for that. I love Ethan’s energy and think he’s an up and coming instructor who clearly loves what he does. I’d encourage him to give more hands on correction for form, and to talk a little less. His words will have more purpose and power if he chooses them more wisely (right now he talks he whole time). A really great sweat and efficient workout!

Ben is so great. He talks about form in a really helpful way, in order to help you become more efficient. Also he speaks in his normal voice, which I'm finding is becoming more and more of a rarity with flywheel instructors- so many of them are talking in this husky Susan Powter voice that is not only weird but also makes it so difficult to understand the cues. But not Ben! Ben is boss. Clear, warm, energetic, fun!

    Signature FHIX

One of the top 10 classes that I've had here - the 5 minute chipper was an intense way to begin after the warmup, then we had a 16 min 6 station circuit & a 4 min FHIX, followed by a 3 min FHIX. I literally splayed out on the floor once we finished. That said, these workouts are what you make of them - if you choose light weights or don't go hard, you're not gonna have the same response once class is over. You should be dripping in sweat and barely able to walk down the stairs.

Was pretty scared cause Y7 classes are hard enough with core work already built in. This wasnt too bad. Only 45 minutes so some core work, a few sun salutations, more core work, a long sequence, a final core burst. Wasnt too hot, wasnt too hard, the instructor was good and worked with us which never usually happens in Y7. She also did a quick little massage during shavasana.

Sarah’s class was the toughest class I’ve very taken at Y7 (both around NYC and in LA). She had awesome, unique flow sequences and challenging modifications for advanced students. First time here and think it is now my favorite of all boxing studios in NYC. At the beginning of the class, the instructor showed us how to do different boxing moves before we started on the bags, unlike other studios I have been to. EXCEED: The Workout

Killer class tonight - love the new assault bike additions (finally)! Skylar does a terrific job splitting up her classes into a combo of circuits, EMOMs + AMRAPs, so we always get a good mix of strength + conditioning work. Tonight covered everything from swings, reverse lunges, wall balls, sumo deadlifts, box jumps, TRX rows, TRX core work, pushups, push presses plus the row + bike. If youre lifting heavy, making out your reps + really putting in the effort, these exceed classes will surely torch you!

Omg I loved this profile tonight! One of the best in months due to its variety of movements, timing breakdown + longevity: 4 stations, 3 moves at each done AMRAP style for 4 mins, :30 rest, then 3 mins :30 rest, then a 2 min sprint of the cardio move (run, row, bike, prison step ups). We covered sumo DL, goblet squats, burpees, box jumps, chest press, v ups, push-ups, plate GTO, overhead plate lunges + jump switch lunges. Only slight caveat is that I wish more upper body work was covered to hit the back, but otherwise, this was put together incredibly well.

Okay, the other reviews had me concerned that this workout was going to be impossible, but honestlyit was a great challenge, but I did not die. I preferred this to Barrysthe sprints are harder but you get actual recovery time between sprints. And yesthe warmup is hard, but its also kinda the hardest part. From that point on, you get little breaks between sprints. You definitely need to be in good shape, even for the 101 class, but if youre in good shape, dont be scared off by the other reviews.

The ONLY exhale instructor I’ll take anymore, especially now that these classes cost a Whooping 12 credits, and the level of challenge has drastically dropped to almost a basic level, now catered to unfit, out of shape ppl. Prepare to work in his class. Alex is non stop, wasting zero time in the full hour - we covered 4 thigh positions including a glute intermission, then a set of glute work at both the barre + floor, topped off with 2 sets plank work, rather lengthy flat back + round back core sets, adding to the opening arm work that included 14 movements. Excellent coach. Ran a well-rounded, intense but manageable class, and gave patient and effective one-on-one instruction to students throughout. Im a lefty, and should fight southpaw, but rarely do bc boxing instructors always teach traditional style and its hard for me to adjust. But Willie took the time to give me specific southpaw instructions during the more detailed combinations. Also I got a better sweat than I have at a boxing class in a long time. The warm up, the core section, the boxing rounds, they were killer, in a room that I suspect was kept hot on purpose. Not a dry brow in the house! One minor somewhat related complaint. The studio gets a bit stinky of feet and other stuff. A little of the powerful air freshener I’ve noticed at other boutique gyms would go a long way here!

    GOODTIMES FLOW

I love this studio so much. Always feel welcomed coming in and amazing after class. It’s a beautiful space with great instructors and interesting, challenging flows. The only thing I would note is that it’s a little bit on the warm side and I tend to find myself very sweaty!

    Follow Along

Harder than I thought it would be with way more sculpting than I’d anticipated. Good class tho if you want to change it up. It’s super dancey tho and lots of jumping but there was a pregnant woman in the class so if she can do it you probably can too :)

What a sweat!!! Courtneys flow was extremely challenging, consisting of a lot poses that require balance and persistence. I learned a lot of new poses in her class such as the half bind and the twist lunge. Altogether, I left class feeling that I have improved my balance and endurance.

    Mat: Pilates Foundations

Helen did a great job making adjustments. I've done pilates many times but several of the moves I must have been doing incorrectly all along and never told. I could really feel them after her adjustments and it burned after/the next day (in a good way!)

Alex is a great instructor- my favorite at Peloton. Class was challenging but set up with ranges so everyone could participate. He gives everyone a little individual attention and encouragement. Always love when I can get into his classes since they are so popular!

I liked Andrew. The music was alright Id assume others that would come to the studio would quite enjoy it. Its pop from the 1980s on. Great variations in the types of things we did in the workout, I could have been more challenged if I had a more intense partner but still a good time. He gets to know everyones names too!

    Reformer Level II

I really enjoyed Angeline's class. I took her open level class before and she was really tough so I was scared level 2 would be way too advanced for me. I'm comfortable enough with pilates but every instructor is different. She gave great modifications and I always learn new moves when I take her class. I also appreciated that she used props and not just the basic reformer exercises. I'll be back! I used to only go to Marina but now Angeline and Marina are my go to's.
