see all reviewsA very fun experience even for first timers who had zero clue about martial arts. The Coaches would adjust the training intensity (time and reps) depending on the different levels of fitness and experience of class goers (1.5 instructors to 3-4 students in off-peak). Lots of variety in exercises and techniques to provide a progressive circuit, combining movements taught earlier on in the session into a longer series of movements by the end as well as general motor control exercises. Training area would be cleaned immediately after class and there were ample hygiene facilities and lockers. Difficulties in understanding verbal prompts would also be quickly resolved via demonstrations.

see all reviewsHKer instructor: the thailand martial arts surprised me with how complicated they are. There are muay thai dojos everywhere. The way most masters teach muay thai is exactly the same as kickboxing. I was unable to see what is the difference between muay thai and kickboxing. However, this Master shows us the traditional thai martial arts which is significantly more in depth than kickboxong. Krabi Krabong looks like FMA’s kalis/arnis/escrima at first glance. However, when look more in detail, they alsp have quite a lot of differences.

Boxing has a lot of footwork. Even though it has no kicking, the legs movement is just as much, if not more than other martial arts. The Master showed me how to position my body in an advantageous way to help me defeat my enemy while stopping my enemy from hitting me. Because I am a beginner, I had trouble coordinating my arms, legs, and trunk. I hope with practice, I can move more seamlessly.

see all reviewsYoung instructor: private class. The professor taught me how to sweep my enemy with both overhook and underhook while in dog fight position. Then he sparred with me. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I got taken down easily. He said that as I fall down, I should not hug my enemy. I should be trying to get to a better position. Hugging my enemy is due to fear, but does not help me, as it will put my enemy’s weight on me at an unfavourable position.
