Extra hard today, great workout. The only thing is that it doesn't look like the floors are cleaned in between each class and there is sweat everywhere after each class. Equipment definitely needs to be wiped down more often.

    LEVEL 3: Extreme

I was bummed that Jason was out of town. But Dom is really great! Hes even harder than Jason. Not as funny, but way better in hitting each machine for some one-on-one encouragement. Love these Level 3 classes. That extra 15 minutes and faster combos make all the difference.

Brice is the best - he makes an effort to know everyone’s name and then during class he gives everyone one on one attention. He challenges you but allows you to go at your own pace - great class, great guy. And he’s a total hottie as well - which can be a little distracting especially when he wears those tight shorts but by no means is that a complaint!

Chest, Back & Abs (60 Minutes)

I thought Matt W. was outstanding. He started class by announcing that there would be three rounds: 8 minutes, 10 minutes and 6 minutes. He explained everything clearly and gave lots of demos. He was helpful - setting up bands and putting them away. He was encouraging and corrected form. And his runs were challenging but within reason. THANK YOU! Really wonderful class.

    Full Body (60 Minutes)

This was the best Barry's class I've been to. I REALLY liked the format of eight-minute treadmill intervals, each consisting of two-minute runs spaced out by recovery walks. That felt much more reasonable and attainable than the classes that involve 21-minute treadmill intervals, where it's so long that you just know it's impossible and don't try as hard. Also Allie's floor work was easy to understand and she gave the most individual attention I've had at Barry's - including pushing me to hit my fastest sprint pace (three times)!

Janet brings the fire!!! OMG it was so hard but so exhilarating. This is everything that I want in a workout class. I liked how we started off learning all the punches and defense moves. The legs and abs part was fun and her music is sooooo good! I already cant wait to come back. She makes me want to push myself further when I feel like dying lol. Loved it.

Great class; not as challenging as other classes I’ve taken here but its nice that this studio never does the same routine twice. It’s always a completely different class. Only complaint is that this class was way oversold, we were on top of one another which was a bit uncomfortable, especially when you’re doing kicks and extensions outside your personal area of space.

Derek was such a great teacher and so funny! The workout consists of a warm up, several stations involving some kind of heavy lifting (we had 4 stations that we did for 10 min each), and then stretching. This was my first LIFT class and Derek did a great job walking around correcting our form and being encouraging. I did my first handstand (against a wall)!!! What! Good class for regulars and newbies.

    Plyo

Ok this class is HARD. To give you an idea of how difficult it is, the WARMUP is a series of 50 burpees. However, don’t let that discourage you. The instructors and fellow classmates are super supportive and encouraging no matter what your pace is. The instructor Cristiano was so helpful and made sure I had alternate workouts for some of the harder parts (pull ups). All in all, it was one of the most gruesomely amazing workouts I’ve had in a long time. FYI, I was the only female in the class. The only minor negative I had was that at 7am there was no parking (permit only until 8am). So give yourself extra time to circle around.

It was a sub today, not Ilia. Her name was Carrie (Keri? Not sure on spelling.) But she was SO good!! Probably the best PLATEFIT instructor I’ve had yet. She was super tough but also encouraging and kind. Honestly, most of them are just tough- which is great, but it really helps me in my workouts when they are also encouraging. 5 stars across the board today! Also, I really love this new studio and, as always, front desk staff is excellent and helpful.

This class isn’t really a workout. It’s a supplement for your workouts to make sure you’re in correct form, and moving your body in the proper ways to prevent any injuries. Kind of a stepping stone between a physical therapy session and a training session. Dena was amazing and was great at explaining each move and how to practice them on my own.
