I love coming to The Bar Method. Staff and instructors are always very welcoming and paying extra attention to me as I am pregnant, with the instructors always presenting me with alternatives and relevant ajustements.

    barre3 Signature 60

Loved this class! I’ve done hundreds of barre classes and this felt challenging in a new way. 60 minutes goes by fast! I loved the breath work at the end of class. Greer is an amazing instructor, very warm and attentive. The studio is beautiful and the front desk staff went out of their way to welcome me (it was my first time). I only wish that they had more mirrors, particularly behind the bars for taller people (I’m 5’10). I like to be able to check on my form, but in order to do that I had to be at the shorter bar and that ended up being a little uncomfortable. Most of the class was in the center of the room, so it wasn’t a major problem, but something to keep in mind if you’re tall and petty like me lol

    Classic (50 Mins)

So sad this instructor was subbing for a class at Williamsburg location. He was amazing, and many of the moves he showed us I have never done at a Pure Barre class. They definitely worked out muscles that I don’t generally and my obliques and butt are feeling it today! I will warn this class was definitely not for beginners, if you aren’t used to verbal instructions and quick pace this class may be a bit confusing/difficult. Overall, contemplating whether I should make the trek to Union Square for his class.

    Define (50 Mins)

Amazing class, Mikayla was thorough with their explanations of each move and went around the room correcting form which I found to be very helpful. I have tried out Classic and Align classes at Pure Barre before which I liked, but this class stood out for me because we were able to use a heavier set of weights and had more of an emphasis on upper body which you don’t really find in most barre/pilates classes. I will definitely be adding this to my rotation at least for the month of December.
