Elizabeth is one of the best coaches on Classpass. MRUC is all about perceived effort rather than numbers, which I love. Elizabeth was great at giving cues and and encouragement. Like most people, I didnt think that paying to run on a treadmill would be valuable, but now Im sold. Whether youre looking to add some more cardio into your workout regime, training for a race, or just looking to let go of your day to day stresses, you can find that here. I get the same type of meditative benefits as I do with spin class but with the added bonus of getting a really intense workout. The music is amazing as well. The only suggestion I have is more empowering music and less techno (which personally doesnt do anything for me). It was my first class but Im coming back for sure. Thanks Elizabeth!

The music at Switch was amazing. The theme was hip hop some from my college days ca. 2009 which was a good musical era. Jeff was cool, walking around and challenging us continuously. Other coaches were there to tell you what to do at your station. The locker rooms were also lovely with at least 5 showers, filtered water fountains and great shower products.

The class was really fun and Dorian has a great energy that makes the class even more enjoyable! However, there was a first-timer yogi in our class and I think for this newcomer it would've have been nice if he had offered some guidance or simple cues (eg straighten left leg) when introducing postures for the first time, instead of just saying the Sanskrit name with no explanation. Just to be safe that it isn't a discouraging experience for him

Holy crap he's amazing + I'm now angry at myself for this being the first time I've taken his class. His pushes were brutal (his first song included 2 60sec ones as part of the warmup) + we did 4 group torque board 45 second races throughout class. He did a wonderful job motivating us + keeping us on point despite the struggle and I appreciate his energy, cueing, direction. He now has A new regular rider!

First time here and think it is now my favorite of all boxing studios in NYC. At the beginning of the class, the instructor showed us how to do different boxing moves before we started on the bags, unlike other studios I have been to. We did 7 rounds, with a cardio break in between bag sessions. Was really tired by the end. No complaints whatsoever

Great vibe here, I like the low lights and loud music. It is a little warm in the studio so dress accordingly. If youre new its better to get a machine in the middle so you can see other people and the instructor hangs there the most. Its a little hard to understand some of the moves if you havent been but before class the teacher demonstrated some (so go early and watch!). They dont use the traditional Lagree names so I was a little lost at times but I think the more you go the more you will catch on. Teacher was full of energy and excitement- you can tell he is passionate about his work there. Highly recommend Jacob!

Ashley has great energy and is well organized. I like going at off peak hours because you get to keep the same treadmill through the whole class and can track your progress. 3 rounds of treadmill and 3 rounds of floor work (weights , pylometrics, bench). This location is nice, similar to others but newer. There are shower towels, small towels. They now use Oribe hand soap which Im not a fan of the fragrance. There are lockers in the locker room and hall. Only thing I wish they had was a water fountain that you could fill yourself. Annoyingly you have to ask the smoothie people to do it for you from the sink.

Karen has become my favorite Y7 instructor! Her flows arent overly complicated but definitely challenge you. Class was good, instructor was great—paid REALLY good attention to form, even in a full class. Awesome class - super challenging but Dyan always makes it fun. She's great at motivating everyone and always brings a fantastic upbeat playlist. I was a little intimidated by the "Harder" aspect but it's pretty similar to the regular class format minus the weights section. It also displays the top ten riders on the board several times throughout class which is cool but can be a little disheartening for those not on it...Still an excellent class for regular or advanced riders looking to take it up a notch and push themselves a bit more.

As a regular Tuesday night class goer, I have to say that this may have been the toughest class Ken has ever given us. Basic but hard as all hell. After the typical warmup in the studio then a farmers carry to Madison Ave plus a non stop 6 min ab series, the workout was 7 rounds of the following : 20 American KB swings, 15 air squats & 5 burpees before a sprint to Madison & back to be done as fast as possible. Most clocked in at ~2 mins so there was a minute rest before the next round. First time I've seen ppl splayed out all over the fitness floor once we finished.

    Body Camp: SWEAT

The format was surprisingly similar to the Fhitting room except theres more rest time. I think Fhittjng room is like 1 min of exercise with 10 seconds of rest whereas here is like 40 seconds of exercise with 20 seconds of rest, which is the optimal HIIT ratio. Despite the longer rest, I still got a challenging workout. I like how you alternate between cardio and strength stations: the strength becomes harder when youre out of breath from the cardio, but you do have time to catch your breath before moving onto the next station. We ended with a cardio finisher and stretch. I like the space better than the Fhitting room because its a lot bigger and thus theres more stations and also some of the exercises here cannot be found at Fhitting room (e.g. agility ladders). You go at your own pace but Bethany is very encouraging. Im coming back to try more classes. I wish there werent as many people today, maybe we couldve utilized the space more and done some sled pulls or something.

    JustReformer: STRENGTH

Just Like Om feels well, just like home. I love this place, all the instructors I’ve taken have been top notch and have offered challenging yet adaptable full body workouts. (Much preferable to New York Pilates which is nearly double the price for a pseudo-instagram friendly workout, although with the Christmas lights and gold marble wallpaper, Just Like Om still offers Instagram vibes ????) Angeline is fantastic and consistently delivers the toughest reformer classes ever. Her odd and dry sense of humor is also so amusing and gets me through the never ending pain of holding through 2 minute planks. Please check out Just Like Om and take a class with Angeline, Erin or Michele. Your abs will thank you.

    Hot HIIT

I love these classes so much and this teacher is great and very precise in her directions, which is helpful. Personally, I would Love more modifications for those of us who want to push a little harder, which some of the other instructors do. But no complaints. Keep it up!

    Intermediate Ballet

Stephanie is a gem! The class is the perfect balance of challenging choreography and fun. No one takes themselves too seriously at Joffrey, which I love. It may not be as advanced as other intermediate classes in the city, but I'm not trying to become a prima, so that's fine by me. The facilities could be better/cleaner but it doesn't sway me. I've been coming for 10+ years and many others have as well. Joffrey is a New York institution.

    POLE (Tricks & Climbs)

Foxy just opened a new studio room, with 5 poles! The poles are all 45 mm, I believe, which are smaller in diameter than the poles in the other rooms. I am really impressed and I think it will be much easier to get into classes here because they can accommodate more girls now. Also I love schwanda - she is one of the best instructors here

BWAY CARDIO/HAMILTON: "You'll Be Back" (ALL LEVELS)

Just so great. I am NOT a dancer and have never really wanted to be one, but Im always looking for cardio options that are interesting and fun this hit the nail on the head. Justina was a great instructor, I didnt feel awkward about my lack of grace, and I got my blood pumping. My only slight complaint is that the music is very loud, but it wont stop me from returning!

    CITYROW

Really hard class although you have to hold yourself accountable and push yourself. That being said I was pretty exhausted when it came to the finisher and could have used some pumped up music to get me through. Classes in general need better music at City Row.

Seiji is a great instructor and encouraging but also pushes you. Great workout as usual, and very efficient workout. Mainly resistance band work and then a mat section, with ab centered work. Do not take this class if you any shoulder injuries.
