She was very nice to me, showing me individually each move and offering modifications to fit my beginner fitness level. The other people in the class were friendly. The class was more independent than I expected. Instructions are written on a white board and you can do them at your own pace. We did bench presses, pull ups, planks, and an ab workout.

see all reviewsMy second boxing class (Henderson rd) was even better than my first experience! (Grandview). I was made to feel so welcome, taught the basic poses moves and stances, the hand wraps were $5 here instead of $10 (and I was prepared to buy for $10 after lass class when my knuckles split and cracked the few days after). Plus just like before it was a great workout. This location has treadmills, an actual boxing ring, and some free weights and other training tools as well, to facilitate personal training. My instructor, Ron, was motivating and challenging and did a good job giving me feedback since I was new. Abe and Carson (I think!), were also super nice st the front desk and with getting me all set up for the class, wrapping my hands, and showing me special offers they are running right now (~$22 for a month instead of $99! Not bad!) and they also have a discount for public servants like teachers, police officers, firefighters, etc, for when your first month is up ($69 instead of $99).

Each "station" has 3 clipboards above it with the moves you'll be doing at that station, offering different levels of difficulty. It is a very fast paced workout, so if you're not familiar with the moves you may lose some time getting a reminder on how to do the move rather than jumping right in. If you are looking to get your ass kicked in 30 minutes, this is a great fit.

When I was feeling discomfort in my lower back it was easy to flag the instructor down and ask for a modification. She teaches a core class right after this class that I should’ve asked if I could stay for but will have to try next time. I enjoyed it greatly and my Apple Watch says I burned almost 600 calories which I think is great for a 40 minute class.

So if you go, I’d recommend introducing yourself, as the communication between the instructor and front desk wasn’t there! I was a little lost at first at how things ran, but just followed some of the other members till I got the hang of it. The instructor walked around and corrected form, answered questions and help when needed! Overall, I really enjoyed the workout! We rotated in three groups, with a few different exercises at each of the three stations. It gave you the opportunity to push yourself at your own pace in each block!
