see all reviewsI’ve been coming to this yoga studio for over a decade and it’s hands down the best in town with clean studios, a stress-free vibe and small classes. Teachers are some of the best in town too - experienced and they know their stuff. If you want gym-workout type yoga, this is not the place. Como Shambhala teaches Yoga - not hiit yoga, not yoga dance, not hot yoga, any-new-fangled-yoga you can think of. It’s straightforward old-school yoga for most parts and the teachers will not push you over what your body can do. Akiko is very particular about alignment and her basic class features basic poses, but they are not easy at all as she wants you to get everything right.

The studio’s barre was only at one side of the room, which made it quite hard to see what the instructor is doing. However, worked up quite a bit of sweat and could definitely feel the barre burn. There are water taps, so you just need to bring a bottle along. A suggestion will be to pump the balls as they were quite deflated :(

It may take some time to 'get' how Yamuna body rolling works, and the class may seem slow to some who just wants to work out their kinks, but I think you will have a deeper appreciation of your body and the method if you take time to listen.
