Fun, tough workout. I was expecting it to be Barry’s or fhitting room hard. It felt probably comparable to a fair fhitting room workout and a light to medium Barry’s workout. For sure what you put in is what you get out. Clear instructions, motivating instructor. Wish it were an hour long at 15-16 credits.

    DASH 28

Matt had awesome music, great energy, and kept it positive. The only thing about the DASH 28 class is that the strength portion is too short to focus on all body sections, they should do different regions on different days of the week or per class to keep it focused.

Farouk always makes the workouts tough but fun. But he and Rich are dead serious about good forms to avoid injuries. All trainers at the Fhitting Room give detailed explanation and demonstration on all the exercises and having two trainers in each class they really walk around and correct forms. My fav studio.

I love the Fhitting Room so much and it is classes like todays, with Ben and Ben, that make it so great. The range of innovative, well-paired exercises, using a variety of equipment, excellent music, nice form corrections, and a sense of humor from both instructors make it so much fun and so satisfying. I always give more than I thought I had in me when I take class with the best instructors at this place and that was definitely true today. Nobody does it better than FR!

Erin is one of, if not the most, challenging P57 instructors, so be prepared for a non-stop class. She packs in more work than anyone, immersing core throughout the entire hour instead of mainly focusing on it at the end. She always finds inventive ways of mastering the flow of class structure - ex: thigh work went from swivel chair R to curtsy lunge R, deli slicer R, round back chair, repeat on left, then waterski. Her class gets me sweaty, burning + is always super intense!

First time here and think it is now my favorite of all boxing studios in NYC. At the beginning of the class, the instructor showed us how to do different boxing moves before we started on the bags, unlike other studios I have been to. We did 7 rounds, with a cardio break in between bag sessions. Was really tired by the end. No complaints whatsoever

    EXCEED: The Workout

Solid class with a good mix of cardio endurance, upper/lower body strength work alternating between the TRX + using KB’s (4:45 spent on each the rower, bike, ski, followed by :45 each of 6 moves). Only request is that we cover more of the strength and have less downtime / recovery. There was a lot of standing around + waiting for next steps, and I hate having my heart rate drop so often + so dramatically. Plus, doing I & Y’s on TRX, DLHP, Jump switch lunges, TRX W’s, goblet squats, DAKB Strict press, Pistols, Swings, Curtsy lunges + Plank pull throughs is great variety, but only :45 of each is just not nearly enough time to really get the muscle burning, especially when working both legs at the same time. But it was an all around awesome class!

I literally stalk the schedule to see when Jenn subs a class that I can take (nights or weekends)...she is a powerhouse who gives an amazingly challenging class with intense thighs and glutes. With the 2 thigh segments and the thigh intermission in between glutes, we covered 8 positions - the most I've ever done in a class here. She's a must-take if you have yet to experience her!

Hot damn, class was brutal tonight! 8 mins at each station with the same buy in + cash out move sandwiching a 6 min EMOM of another move: Run .2, 20 KB Swings / Row 12-18 cals, 10 erg knee tucks with 5 air squats / 20 wall balls, 4 man makers into clean, squat + press / 15 bike cals, 8-10 burpees. I generally don’t enjoy EMOMs Bc the goal count always seems to be too low + so I feel like I’m standing around doing nothing during class, but the given goals were on point. Love taking class here bc you never know what you’re walking into with the ever changing movements + profile breakdowns, but I always feel gassed when leaving.

I’ve been a flywheel rider since 2011 + have never had the chance to take her bc of scheduling, but she shocked me with her killer playlist, an incredibly challenging ride with plenty of tap backs, hills, pushes + sprint, plus her engaging nature + motivational demeanor. My 1st time at Brrrn and I was struck by how awesome and friendly the team and instructors are. Lindsay made a point of greeting everyone in the class and setting expectations. The format itself was interesting: sort of a build from a slow yoga flow to some strength and sculpt work with an unexpected cardio blast in the last few minutes. Lots of balancing too. Wasn't the toughest workout but I wasn't looking for that. I still felt a burn. The room temp felt so refreshing and it's a cool concept. Definitely recommend it and plan to return.

As a regular Tuesday night class goer, I have to say that this may have been the toughest class Ken has ever given us. Basic but hard as all hell. After the typical warmup in the studio then a farmers carry to Madison Ave plus a non stop 6 min ab series, the workout was 7 rounds of the following : 20 American KB swings, 15 air squats & 5 burpees before a sprint to Madison & back to be done as fast as possible. Most clocked in at ~2 mins so there was a minute rest before the next round. First time I've seen ppl splayed out all over the fitness floor once we finished.

Love the instructor but even though he’s shouting, it’s still very difficult to hear and see him. I recommend a mic and moving the gold bag to the front and elevating it so everyone can see. Placing it in the middle is generally ideal but the pillar really restricts 3/4 of the class to see him. And since we can’t hear him either, it means half the class is unsure of the sequence. He does come around often to correct form.

    Reformer All Levels

Allison was awesome! Really amazing class- all of my favorite exercises (arms laying down, leg and footwork, planking, minimal box work). She is also funny- went by quickly. Kind of an odd studio with a weird vibe but the workout itself was awesome so I would return to her class.

    Vinyasa All Levels

Great, genuinely "all levels" class. The instructor focused a lot on muscle awareness and alignment and started with the fundamentals, but quickly worked towards more advanced poses. I also really appreciated that he made a point of remembering names.

    FlyBarre 60

Sandra is one of the best teachers. But I wish flybarre would enhance their workouts. Each teacher almost does the same exact things - been about ten times, its all the same after a while. Most problematic is that there is always barely any barre work (on one set at the barre usually) otherwise all the exercises can be done at home and are all mat based. I dont know why fly doesnt try to mimic much more challenging barre classes in the city. There is also zero aerobic work in the class, doesnt get your heart rate up a bit it make you sweat.

    Trooper Core Strength Camp

I have a love hate relationship with this class. Its crazy how hard this class is. There was a power section and strength section. The power section didnt feel like much but the strength section was insane. The exercises (TRX and pike ups with gliders) looked easy but to do them properly with full range of motion and in a controlled way is absolutely killer. Core is the hardest muscle group to work. If you pride yourself on lifting heavy or running fast, this will be a humbling experience because theres almost no weight and its very slow paced. Im going to incorporate this class into my training more even though I hate it. I kinda wish there was an easier version of this so that I could work up to it because I felt like I couldnt even stabilize in some of the exercises so I did very little reps. Maybe next time Ill get better.

Charlie was an awesome instructor but the venue is a little odd. Had to awkwardly squeeze through an ongoing CrossFit course to get to the women’s locker room and the Y7 room itself had no fans which by shavasana I really needed.

Great workout and instructor was very nice! Sometimes I wish theyd give you modifications on a move though if youre visibly struggling so you can do something to work the muscle group rather than nothing at all.
