    Great cardio workout. This class was evrything one would expect - INTERVALS. We did several sets on and off the rower. On the rower: warm-up that included pick drill, pyramid (60/80/90% intensity), power pulls (10/20/10) at various stroke rates; 1 minute segments with rates of 22/24/26/28/30; five sprints at 20sec on / 10 sec paddle; and close with a 2 min at rower's pace. In between the row sets we were off the rower focusing on abs, core, squats and lunges.

    Eric was schedule to teach his regular Tuesday evening class, but Stacy subbed in. She really made up for it, too. Lots of row time - about 5 more minutes more than other classes. Several sets of power, sprints, and then distance for time. I got in great mileage and matched my lowest split, to boot.

    I usually go to the downtown CityRow at Union Square but I hauled myself uptown today for Holliss special brand of ass-kicking and it was worth the trip! CityRow has the best teachers hands down and the best most effective classes and will always be my absolute favorite rowing spot(s) anywhere!!!

    Rahmel is one of the best instructors in nyc. Hes so much fun. His classes will truly challenge you, he knows what hes doing, and yet class always flies by! He also knows how to personalize class for each students level of capability.

    What a great class. Garrett is a great instructor, personable and offers hands on help with form and technique. Very motivating and an overall good workout. I never thought I’d get this much from rowing but he mixes it up well bw rowing, weights and other exercises. Highly recommend his class if you want to get a good cardio workout in.

    Pros: - Brandon is very passionate about what he does - Normally at other rowing classes the focus is on speed / cadence, but with Brandon it was much more about breathing and control and knowing your body but just as intense; it was a nice change - We never stopped moving, even after an intense interval we would recover by rowing slower, which was really difficult but I can see why thats beneficial - Great playlist, which is key to a great workout Cons: - Bare bones facility with no showers - Sometimes it was hard to hear instructions over the music - I think we were supposed to row to the beat of the music based on Yelp reviews but that was pretty difficult - I tried to at first but just gave up - I wish there were more strength exercises

    Melissa was great. Super energetic and welcoming. This is classified as a rowing studio but the rowing technique is very different than a regular rowing class so set your expectations. In most rowing classes your legs power the exercise. In this workout legs are static for most of it and core/upper body powers the rowing action. I find it to be not as full of a cardio workout without the legs. But if you want a good core/your body focused cardio workout, you'll enjoy this studio.
