About this class

The Rocket is an uplifting series originally crafted by SF native Larry Schultz as a way of modifying traditional Ashtanga. The Rocket all levels and advanced classes are each challenging sequences involving fun/funky transitions with a focus on bhandas, breath and drishti. The Rocket is all about modification, self-expression, moving towards personal goals and calming the nervous system while strengthening the body and mind. This style was coined "The Rocket" because its techniques "get [students] there (to nirvana) faster". A Rocket All Levels class follows the basic outline of the advanced Rocket class while omitting most inversions and Sun Salutations for an emphasis on accessibility. This class is taught to all levels as it is an excellent class for everyone, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. Instructions will be given to learn a posture or transition from the most basic step to the most advanced expression of possibilities.

Awesome!

Instructor seemed very professional and knowledgeable, but the class felt really slow. Definitely not a beginner class. No music playing either, which I usually prefer.

Christie is the best.

More of an advanced class. Very repetitive with vinyasas. The door to the studio closing over and over at the end is obnoxious.

This class was really advanced and I wasnt prepared!

3.5 stars. The class was fine but Im unclear why its rocket yoga. It didnt seem any different from other classes. There was no music and it was in the room next to the lobby, so the people waiting for classes were very loud and distracting. I absolutely love most classes at Yoga Garden, but will not be coming back to this one.
Rocket Vinyasa with Christie
I enjoyed the stretching and the hand balancing incorporated into this class.
Rocket Vinyasa with Christie
Good flow, but the room was set up so awkwardly and there was no music.
Rocket Vinyasa with Christie
The flow was challenging but also approachable. Definitely a class to go back week after week to see improvement
