About this class

Prenatal/Mom & Baby Yoga classes offer great opportunities for moms-to-be and new moms to connect into a supportive community in which practice, learning, and growth is shared. These classes are based on Hatha Align style, with variations offered for the specific needs of prenatal and postnatal stages. Standing poses, restorative poses, and meditation are all included for a well-rounded practice and mental well-being. Moms are encouraged to bring their babies, who will remain in the room during practice. This class is appropriate for children from birth to pre-crawling.

How to prepare

Come at least 5 minutes early-there is often a last minute rush for classes. (Late arrivals will forfeit space to wait-listed students.) Bring your own, or rent mats for $2. Cubbies are provided for non-valuables--bring valuables to class with you.

How to get there

Auto Parking There is on-street free and metered parking available around the studio. There is a 2-hour time limit between 8am and 6pm, Monday-Friday. Bike Parking We offer wall-hanging bike racks behind our gated entrance and bike racks on the sidewalk-secure your bike to the racks with your lock. We are on or near Bike Routes 30, 32, 47 and “the wiggle.” Transit We are four blocks from the N Judah stop at Duboce Park, and less than one block from Muni Bus lines: 24 Divisadero, 6 Parnassus and 71 Haight/Noriega.

Instructor did a nice job integrating needs of pregnant mamas and postnatal mamas and offering modifications for each. Liked that stretches were interspersed with the check-in at the start of class. Cuing was sometimes unclear/confusing.

I guess I should have expected this, but babies crying for 90 min. Of yoga is not really relaxing.

I liked very warm atmosphere. Everybody (yoga teachers attended it as a master-class) was helpful and nice. Though I felt like it's too little of exercise. But next day some of my muscles were a bit sore

Class seemed scattered and didn't get a good work out or stretch. Found crying babies very distracting, would prefer separate prenatal class.

The instructor was a bit condescending during class and really pushed her baby rearing philosophy. It started with a lecture about giving your kids sugar and how you should never do it. She went into a long story about how she never gave her daughter sugar until she was 4 and now she's perfect. There was more pushing of philosophy than actual instructions! She didn't explain a lot of the yoga movements and many people were doing different things at different times. She also forgot to "switch sides" a lot throughout the class. Everyone likes something different but I came to get a decent stretch and workout, not to hear about how to raise a child for 90 mins...
