About this class

The GYROKINESIS® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath and mental focus. The Gyrokinesis Method is practiced on a mat and chair, without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.

You must be physically present five minutes before the start of class, or your spot may be given away. If you are 10 minutes late or more, there is a possibility that you may no longer be able to join the class. This was a mat and stool class, no machines. It was an hour of variations on cat cow and a lot of breathing. Im glad I tried it on my recovery day, it was a good stretch, but I probably prefer Pilates for a harder workout.

A great way to loosen up from these frigid NYC days. The class will show you some new ranges of motion and help strengthen some typically overlooked but important muscles.

Ester is super friendly and welcoming. She is also hands on and corrected my posture throughout the class. Relaxing and I felt an inch taller after class.

What is ClassPass?
