About this class

Olympic weightlifting is an athletic discipline in the modern Olympic program. It is the quintessential design for dynamic performance. In comparison with other strength sports which only test strength, olympic lifting requires meticulous technique. It will train you to be faster, more explosive, mobile, and teach extreme body awareness in order to achieve execution successfully. For example--properly executed--the "snatch" and "clean and jerk" are both dynamic and explosive while using full range of body motion.

How to prepare

For boxing classes - students are welcome to bring their own gloves and wraps. We do sell both at the gym and have a limited amount of house gloves that students can use at no cost. You'll sweat a lot in our boxing classes, so remember to bring a towel and wear appropriate workout gear that will keep you cool. Be sure to also bring a water bottle! Training shoes rather than running shoes are recommended. For Athletic Performance and Powerlifting classes - wear appropriate workout wear, bring a towel and wear flat shoes.

How to get there

We are conveniently located at 1960 Harrison St, San Francisco, between 15th & 16th. There is ample parking available at 15th & Harrison in the UCSF lot (Open to the public).
