About this class

An ideal class for clients that are new to the Method and for experienced clients that want a truly focused work out. This class allows for time to assimilate the name and basic alignment principles for each exercise. There are less variations taught and more holds and cuing so that clients can truly understand each position, why they are doing it and how to refine their own alignment within each exercise. This is incredibly beneficial for education for the newer clients and for experienced clients to improve their own practice.

How to prepare

Just bring YOU! Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. Preferably not too loose or baggy so teachers are able to see your alignment and form. Socks are required, and you can also purchase grip socks at the studio.

How to get there

The studio is conveniently located in the heart of the Cow Hollow/Marina. This location was the first Dailey Method studio and the first barre of its kind in SF. Founded in 2001, The Dailey Method has now expanded to nearly 70 locations worldwide. Classes maintain their deep roots in traditional and challenging barre, yet are constantly evolving and dynamic in movements and variations. The studio offers three types of class formats: Dailey Barre, Interval (faster paced) and Fusion (an hourlong combination of Barre and Interval)

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I'm so sorry to hear that it was tough to follow along. It can certainly be tough the first time you try any class and Dailey is a different practice than many other type of workout. Similar to trying yoga for the first time, it feels unnatural because you are recruiting muscle groups to support positions your body isn't familiar with. This is why I highly encourage new students to take advantage of our unlimited intro offer for new students. Right now you can try two weeks for $49 and you can get a better feel for our various class formats and instructors. But I promise that over time it becomes easier to follow along, yet more challenging for your body as you can engage more deeply when you are in proper alignment. And I'd love to have you join us in class again soon. I'll personally be teaching the Basics class this Saturday at 9:45am. Hope to see you there! What is ClassPass?
