About this class
This class is for all levels of participants. Soja's Self Defense Training / Primal Power Classes are week day classes for you to get stronger and fitter and to drill down on the material presented in Soja's Applied Self Defense workshops. Beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome alike. Soja firmly believes that EVERYBODY has the right to defend themselves, no matter their physical limitations and training experience. Come have a lot of fun and learn all sorts of applied self defense techniques. For those not interested in the self defense aspect of this training participants can opt for pure core strength training and full body movement exercises with our Primal Power curriculum. How to prepare
Hydrate BEFORE class, not so much during class. Our workouts work best with pants that cover the knees, and short sleeved t-shirts because participants may opt to join in our safe simple tumbling and mat work. Soja students are welcome to bring their own jump rope and gloves for kettle bell use, as well as protective gear for safe sparring if they choose to participate in those activities.
How to get there
Soja opened their new studio in South West Berkeley almost a year ago. Soja closed their Oakland Uptown studio one year ago. Come check out the new location, it's 3x as large, has lots of free parking, and is located at the corner of San Pablo & Ashby Avenues. 3015 San Pablo (space A), Berkeley, CA 94702 It's at the bottom of a large Condo building called The Higby. This is the retail space on the SouthEast Corner of San Pablo & Ashby Avenues. Don't come to the main condo unit building entrance, go to the corner.
