About this class

Four words: High-Intensity Interval Training. This 45-minute class on the Rival Field will vary between strength and cardio formats, but will be 100% anaerobic every time. Your bodyweight will never feel harder to utilize than during blasts of 20 second intervals for 8 rounds – it’s a must-try for everyone!

How to prepare

Classpassers should wear whatever clothes they are most comfortable working out in. Closed toed shoes must be worn in all of our classes. Rival doesn't provide cycle shoes and they are not required in our cycling classes. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, you will not be allowed class entry. We highly encourage everyone to bring their own water bottle. Bottled water isn't sold at Rival, however water bottles are sold for $12 (not including tax). We also recommend bringing a lock to store your belongings in our lockers.

How to get there

Rival Fitness is located at 510 E. Pine Street in the center of the Pike-Pine corridor on Capitol Hill. Parking can be accessed in nearby parking garages or along residential streets. We highly recommend allowing yourself ample time to find parking so you can check in for class on time. If you are travelling by bus, the 11 Metro will get you here from downtown or Madison Valley, and the 49 will bring you here from the University District or North Broadway.

Great format. Good use of time. Instructor kept everything moving really well. I like this gym - the clientele seem really fit and energetic, which is inspiring to be around. Ive shown up at quite a few boot camp classes that are filled with beginners (good for them), but its great to be surrounded by some #fitspo

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars and picked 4 because the negatives should be easy to fix. The workout was good, I like the tabata structure and I got a good burn. The space and equipment were fine. The instructor was okay. Her form on squats wasn't that strong and she kept saying that you could skip the breaks and keep working which seems like it defeats the purpose of tabata (I want the exercises to be hard enough that you need the 10 sec break after the 20 sec of work). She was also addressing modifications to "the ladies" which is completely unacceptable.
