How to prepare

Classpassers should wear whatever clothes they are most comfortable working out in. Closed toed shoes must be worn in all of our classes. Rival doesn't provide cycle shoes and they are not required in our cycling classes. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, you will not be allowed class entry. We highly encourage everyone to bring their own water bottle. Bottled water isn't sold at Rival, however water bottles are sold for $12 (not including tax). We also recommend bringing a lock to store your belongings in our lockers.

How to get there

Rival Fitness is located at 510 E. Pine Street in the center of the Pike-Pine corridor on Capitol Hill. Parking can be accessed in nearby parking garages or along residential streets. We highly recommend allowing yourself ample time to find parking so you can check in for class on time. If you are travelling by bus, the 11 Metro will get you here from downtown or Madison Valley, and the 49 will bring you here from the University District or North Broadway.

Endurance Ride with Shari
Music was not good, lots of dated instrumental only 90s-00s electronic music. Maybe one or two songs that had been on the top 40 radio in the past few years. Good music is key for cycling classes! I noted more older people (40-50+) than soulcycle/flywheel/ cyclebar classes that are usually all millennials. Facilities were great, bikes clean and comfortable and easy to use. The actual ride and intervals were fine but would have been so much better with good soundtrack

not super inspiring and the music was OK

Fantastic teacher. Style of the class is a bit more relaxed than I would like
Endurance Ride with Shari
Really liked her point of view about cycling and her approach to endurance. Great connection with mental and physical. Loved the class.

This class had no UMPH! Im an avid cyclist and and typically LOVE indoor cycling classes. This class was boring. The ride had little variety and the instructor didnt have any energy. :(
Endurance Ride with Shari
Very technical - used the cadence and wattage to help keep effort constant. Good mix of effort and recovery. Great music - was right on cadence.
Endurance Ride with Shari
Loved this class. Two steep hill climbs at about 60rpm. Very good instructor
Endurance Ride with Shari
Low energy

Solid spin class. Loved ending the ride with a Plane Pour Moi. It was exactly the boost I needed to really push it. Would have liked more music with a stronger beat to dig in to.
