About this class

To find deeper strength, that close-to-the-bone kind of strength, this remedy barre class draws from ballet fundamentals and yoga, while combining with gyrokinesis and dance inspired movements to enhance your flexibility and overall ease of movement. This barre class is a challenging, 45-50 minute workout that alternates between deep, isometric engagements and full-body dynamic movements to awaken your body's best mobility and strength. Remedy barre is topped off with a 10-15 minute roll-down to lessen soreness, stimulate blood flow and promote elasticity in your myofascia.

How to prepare

We work barefoot or with grippy socks in the studio. Wear comfortable clothes that allow instructors to see your alignment. Props including rollers, balls, mats, resistance bands, weights, yoga blocks, etc. are all provided for you at the studio. We lock the studio door five minutes after class has started. Please arrive on time to avoid class interruptions and so you can check-in with the instructor about your body.

How to get there

Remedy Barre + Foam Rolling is a short walk from MacArthur BART station and off the Telegraph Ave exit on Highway 24 in the heart of the Temescal neighborhood. Street parking is available outside of the studio and is usually easy to find on 48th Street. Watch for street cleaning on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 9 am to 12 pm.

I absolutely love these classes, and am so grateful for the space that Maggie and Tam have created here. Always a mind-body workout and rejuvenation. It’s been a healing space for me throughout law school. Love you guys (and the whole team!)!

Fabulous class as always! Taryn is constantly switching up the movements, and I loved that this one especially worked my core this time around.

class was not intense like other barre classes, moved slower, and the was no personal form corrections or adjustments by the instructor even though it was a relatively small class (~17?). form wouldn't matter as much if this was a cardio class, but for a barre class, it is the key. instructor was very nice and pleasant though

What is ClassPass?
