About this class

**PLEASE READ: This is an INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED LEVEL 2.0 class; for safety and instruction, participants are REQUIRED to have attended five (5) or more Studio Classes at Reformation Fitness before signing up. Sorry, no exceptions. Join our high-performance strength coaches as we break down the mechanics of barbell lifting, focusing on technique, performance, form, and strength. BBC is a foundation-based level class that will incorporate three elements: (1) the basics of power-lifting and Olympic weightlifting (2) periodic, progressive loading to develop strength and (3) the conditioning elements you've come to know and love in our MetCon/HIIT classes. Basement Barbell Club is a great opportunity to try something new, step outside of your comfort zone, and add a new dimension to your fitness.

How to prepare

For your first class at Reformation Fitness, please arrive 10 minutes early to sign a waiver, familiarize yourself with the studios and facility, as well as get a chance to speak to the instructor ahead of the class regarding any limitations, injuries or modifications needed. All classes are 14 members (or less) per room, so please feel free to ask questions regarding modifications, progressions, form & technique, and/or different weight/resistance levels needed. Please be courteous and respectful of all others during class. Thank you!

How to get there

Reformation Fitness - Shaw/Convention Center conveniently located in the heart of DC's Historic Shaw District. They're within a 10-15 minute walk from many surrounding neighborhoods -- including Logan Circle, U Street, Bloomingdale, Shaw, Mt. Vernon Triangle, Thomas Circle, and Gallery Place/Chinatown. Street parking is available and can be paid for via ParkMobile. The Convention Center/Mt. Vernon Metro Station (Green/Yellow lines) is one block away.

Nick is one of the best instructors in DC. He really takes the time to work with each individual in his classes and makes sure that our form is correct. I have learned so much from him and highly encourage anyone to take his classes that wants to focus on form and performing correct movements!

Amazing teacher but the class is very intimidated to someone who knows nothing about barbell etiquette. Stick to the metcon and hitt classes if you prefer free weights and kettle bells over barbells.
