About this class

As long as you can hold a ballet barre, you can do Pure Barre. That’s not to say that it’s easy, your first class will likely feel challenging at times, but they encourage you to stick with it. Try your hardest and let loose and feel free to ask your instructor plenty of questions after class if you weren't clear on any of the moves.

Pure Barre with Caitlin
I’ve tried pure barre on multiple occasions and multiple locations with mixed feelings and tonight might’ve been my last class. Didn’t feel welcomed, and was forced into postural corrections that were uncomfortable for my body with minimal encouragement or instruction. In my opinion, if pure barre made 50 min classes into a normal hour and spent that extra time with more instruction it would be a lot better of a format. I know there are many regulars and that’s great, but for a class pass-er like me who goes 2-3 times a month, it’s not constructive. Most of the studios and classes have felt exclusive and pretentious and pure barre is the only workout studio of any kind I’ve been to that appears to minimally allow, let alone provide or educate on, modifications to fit various people’s physical needs and bodies. I really want to like pure barre because in theory it is right up my alley, but I think I’ll be sticking to other barre studios
