About this class

Pure Empower is a barre-based, high intensity, low impact, full body workout that combines strength training with cardio-centric circuits. It uses your own body weight, a 6-inch step-up platform and ankle weights. It is challenging, but modifiable for all levels and a great compliment to Pure Barre Classic.

How to prepare

New students must arrive 15 mins early to fill out paperwork, regardless of having been to other Pure Barres. They cannot accommodate anyone who is more than 3 mins late for Pure Barre Classic and no late entry for Empower. Pants, legging or capris (no shorts) and socks required. Shoes and cell phones are not allowed in studio Please let the instructor know of any injuries. Pregnant students: always consult with your doctor before beginning a new exercise routine and alert your teacher for modifications.

The ankle and wrist weights really helped make the workout intense - however they do all of the leg section kneeling which is a lot of time and weight on the joints. Also, the platform grip is painful for the arm section, which made it hard to do the exercises (I suggest putting a towel over it!). Overall it was a good class, but I did feel like it was more of what I put into it having done barre before.

What is ClassPass?
