About this class

Tai Chi Chuan can be translated literally as, “grand ultimate boxing.” Tai chi is typified by slow movements that help circulate energy around the body and accentuate the mind-body connection. This is one reason why many health practitioners feel tai chi promotes wellness and longevity. Tai chi originated around the 14th century in China. Although the details of the origins of the art are not clear, most agree that it was developed by a Shaolin monk who wanted to have a martial art based on softness and yielding, rather than on hardness and force that characterized the other martial arts of the time. How to prepare

Please wear sneakers or soft soled shoes and bring water and a towel. You are welcomed to bring your own mat; however, they have plenty to share.
