How to prepare

Be in your comfortable workout clothes and bring your own towel and waterbottle. Shoes are required for Jumping, Piloxing KO, The Mix by Piloxing, Strong by Zumba and UStix classes. P/S: Soft sole shoes/ training shoes are recommended for Jumping classes.

How to get there

We are at Clarke Quay Central, just above the Clarke Quay MRT Station (North-East Line). Take the Yellow Zone lift to Level 3 and you will find us!

Awesome! Pound fitness is indeed an awesome workout for beginners who want to try their hand on some cardio and yet would like to pace themselves towards the stamina they desire. Good to start with the easier variations and slowly go towards more challenging ones as you progress in the classes. See you again soon! :)

fun class but quite difficult to follow for a first timer. instructor was very encouraging though :)

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, usually first timers will find it tough to follow for most workouts. But with more practice, you will find it getting easier to master the moves as well as to work on tougher variations later. Do come back soon and we are sure you will find it easier in your next class. :)

The workout was fun, effective and trendy. Shirleen, the trainer, is very friendly and approachable. The exercise routine was easy to follow, topped with good music. Great positive vibes!

Session was not at all what I expected. Was expecting to be pounding drums with weighted sticks with a variation of movements, but class was like an arms, butt and thigh routine holding the drumsticks and without cardio. Did not feel like my arms were engaged at all, instead I felt it most in my thighs. Additionally, I do feel the studio is a bit too small and as I was at the back of the class, I could not see what Shirleen was doing most of the time. However, Shirleen is very encouraging and showed variation in the exercises, allowing beginners some flexibility.

Thanks for the feedback. Pound is an international program that was started by drummers. They make use of lightly weighted sticks (RipStix) to help us tone our arms as we are pounding the floor, waving the sticks in circular movements or swinging them high using our arms.. slightly different from drummers who largely use their wrists to hit drums. And yes, because there are lunges and crunches sometimes, you will realise the thighs and abs are being worked out too. Perhaps it might be good for you to learn more of the choreo and variations such that you can enhance intensity during your next class. As for the studio, it will be good for you to try and stand in the front so you can see Shirleen more clearly. We always encourage the newcomers to stand in front so that they can follow the instructor better. However, we understand that when classes are more crowded, it may be a challenge. In any case, we appreciate your feedback and will look to see you again soon! :)

Instructor was really energetic but all the moves and explanation were super confusing - and room was too small to do drumming..

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps you can try doing class a few more times to familiarise yourself to the moves. First timers will usually find it tougher to follow..but with more practice, you will soon find it easier to groove with the music. As for room size, usually every student will have a mat space and it should be sufficient for the drumming moves to be executed. In any case, we will continue to monitor the space issue and hope your next class will be more enjoyable. :)
