About this class

Powerflow Vinyasa Basics classes are open to all levels of practitioners and focus on the elemental building blocks of the practice. Learn modifications to fit your body and your practice. You will be guided through practice with emphasis on building a solid foundation for this dynamic style of yoga. Basics classes are great for beginning students who want to break down poses and work at a slower pace. Advanced students have the opportunity to dive into the subtleties of the practice, as well as focus on breath and presence. Room is warm, heated to 86-90 degrees.

How to prepare

Bring a yoga mat, water and towel and wear fitted, moisture-wicking exercise clothes. Remember that every single person in class had a first hot yoga class once. Though yoga may seem unfamiliar at first, try to leave your ego at the door and let yourself be a beginner. Yoga is a practice, but every person in the room is there for the same reason: yoga makes us feel better. Every PFY studio offers Warm Vinyasa Basics classes. In these classes, you will break down common vinyasa yoga poses and learn modifications so you feel empowered and safe.

How to get there

Powerflow Yoga Bloomfield is located at 71 Washington St., just a few steps away from the Bloomfield train station. They are in the heart of downtown Bloomfield, right above everybody’s favorite lunch spot Anthony’s Cheesecake. There is a metered parking lot right behind the studio, but your best option is the parking garage right out front for just $1 per hour. On Sundays, however, the metered lots are free all day. Julie was great! It’s been a long time since I’ve practiced yoga so I was feeling a little intimidated. But Julie made for a light hearted, open environment so I felt comfortable just trying my best and she adjusted my poses when necessary. Worked a great sweat! It was a great class (and great instructor!) to start getting back into my yoga practice!

What is ClassPass?
