How to prepare

For your first class wear comfortable clothes that you would wear to a gym or yoga class. NO LOTIONS or OILS at least 8 hours prior to your first class, which will cause you to slip on the pole and will handicap your grip. Please remove all mental like rings and bracelets as well.

I was afraid I wouldn’t have enough upper body strength to do it, but I the instructor broke everything down and the whole class was working the poles. It didn’t feel super intense during the class, probably because it was so much fun, but i could feel it in my arms and lats the next day. Make sure to wear shorts and find out what the door code is before.

Great class. I left my water bottle there! Can I pick it up later?
Beginner Pole with Ladaska
So most of my instructors through Classpass have been pretty great, but Ladaska is OUTSTANDING. Such a good class! She's so patient and charming and fun and snuck in a killer ab routine that was actually fun! I know people say abs can be fun, but I have literally never thought so. Not once. Until today. Amazing. And on top of that, the secret ab routine was actually teaching us fundamental floorwork technique. Double awesome. Also, Ladaska gave me a few extra minutes of her time AFTER she'd already let our class time run over to give us a little extra dance time, and helped me work on this move that I absolutely just could not get. She just said "try to think of this" and demonstrated a simple thing, and BAM it clicked. Magical. Ladaska is my hero. 6 stars.

I personally failed at pole dancing, but the instructor was amazing, and tried to help! I wish they had recommended wearing leggings, because bare leg hurt so bad!
