Cons: Parking (finding parking and if you come after 6 you have to pay extra for the meter). There were no locker rooms and the door opens directly into the studio. I came straight from work and as it was my first time I did not realize we could go inside to change in the bathroom until I saw someone else go in. There is only one, small bathroom and it was difficult to change in due to the size. For me this is a big thing as I can’t change at work either. No shower if anyone is working out before work. I’d imagine that if I were taking a class it would be hard to concentrate with people walking through it to get to the bathroom. Pros: Vibration was odd but it was really fun. The class goes fast And the person who checked me in was very helpful and friendly, answered all my questions. I like that it’s a 30 min workout but can’t speak to the effectiveness yet. I enjoyed it enough that I would come back despite the cons and maybe do the 2 week intro offer after classpass.

Hard to understand instructor and not that challenging of a class

Got a really good work out. I had to turn off the machine a few times because the vibrations were a little too strong for my head, but I still got a good sweat on!

This was not only physically challenging but mentally too. Doing jumping jacks on top of a vibrating plate takes a little bit of focus, to say the least. It’s a small studio which allows the instructor to help everyone during the class.

How to prepare

Who’s PLATEFIT designed for? Anyone! (who isn't pregnant) At PLATEFIT they believe fitness looks different on every body. PLATEFIT tips: Feels like the very first time? We recommend at least 3 classes to acclimate your body to vibration. Grip Soled Socks are required & available at the studios for $15. First Time clients- please arrive 15 min early so the staff can give you the PLATEFIT vibrational down low. They allow a grace period of 3 mins. Arrival after 3 mins will result in the loss of your spot if a Wait List client is present.

How to get there

PLATEFIT WEST HOLLYWOOD suggests arriving 15 min. early to find proper parking. Meter parking is available on weekends. Weekdays find 2 hours free parking along Kings Road and neighboring streets. Street cleaning Monday and Tuesdays. Next door to Kings Road Cafe. Cross streets Kings Road and Beverly Blvd. If you arrive early for your class and the door is closed or the class in session is full please enjoy the fresh air and sunshine in our front awning space until your class start time.

What is ClassPass?
