About this class

Join us for a great chance to experience a morning Flow Ashtanga Primary series class facing the Swan River in the beautiful, Sir James Mitchell Park overlooking Perth City. This is a slightly more advanced class than the 8am class. The 8am class offers gentler variations and more deconstruction of poses. Most weeks, Georgia will also be there, tag-teaming with Lamb to guide and adjust you in your practice. We gather and practice yoga together with other students and yoga teachers and share yoga in a fun way to encourage new comers to take up the practice to understand their body and relax the ever chaotic mind. Community yoga is a great way to get involved in a free (or by donation) class after a hard week's work and get exposure to a wide range of teaching styles and yoga practices. Community is where all real goodness lies, in whatever you share together. There's no pressure to perform and no medals for forcing yourself beyond what is comfortable. Empiricism is a scientific fundamental idea that controlled experiment - experience, is the best way, but not the only way to learn. Yoga shares in adopting this approach by encouraging you to use yoga as a way to learn about you. M

How to prepare

Please bring your own mat or towel and wear loose clothes. We have spare mats and blocks you can borrow. It is recommended that you avoid eating less than 3 hours prior to classes. If you have any injuries, concerns about a particular aspect of your health or any circumstances that may affect the benefits of your practice (including pregnancy) please advise your your teacher upon arriving to class.

How to get there

Our indoor classes take place at The Senior Citizens Hall and St James Mitchell Park on Coode St. Travel up Coode Street, away from the park up the hill on the corner of Angelo Street behind the NAB bank is the hall there's 2 hr parking or bus access. Our outdoor classes are by located in 3 public locations: - left of the car park in front of the Fun Cats boat dock at the end of Coode Street, Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth; - Rushmore Loop Park, Baldivis; and - Bell Park Reserve on Rockingham foreshore. Look for the yoga mats.
