About this class

The Sunday Morning Meditation Class at the Open Way Mindfulness Center is a group that seeks to build community and to offer a place that can support our daily practice as we sit in the Zen tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. We are grounded in this tradition. It is a simple practice, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's easy. Sitting quietly in a comfortable position allows us to focus our awareness and gives us an opportunity become the observer of the breath. The mind will wander and that's OK! The most important part is to be gentile and celebrate when you become aware of your wandering thoughts. As we sit breathing in and out, we get a unique moment to moment opportunity to just be! How often do we offer ourselves that kind of rest? From this base practice of cultivating that inner stillness, we explore many modalities that help us navigate difficult emotions, personal and collective trauma's, and cultivate moments of deep relaxation within the mind, body & spirit. Come to the refreshing waters of your own inner stillness. Together we can cultivate a spaciousness that supports every other part of our lives. How to prepare

Please wear clothing that you are comfortable in. There are no prerequisites for starting a practice at this weekly group. We enjoy all the seating implements that allow everyone to be comfortable regardless of physical needs. Tea is served at 9:50 and the meditation begins at 10:10 on the dot!

What is ClassPass?
