About this class
The misconception that exists with Rowing – “it’s all arms “– exists with Boxing too. In fact, like Rowing, Boxing is about using your legs and core and finding power in your breath. In this class, you will learn the basics of throwing a punch by developing the ability to generate power from your legs, as you rotate through your core and hips, and then punch. Add to that, a series of exercises that is never the same thing twice – from sprint rowing, to quick feet on the agility ladder, to muscle strengthening on the equalizer bars, to ropes, to dynamic plyometrics that focus on strength and isometric muscle conditioning, you will feel the burn. One class that boosts your power, increases balance and stability, and greatly improves functional movement, while using your Pilates breath. It’s not a coincidence that Joseph Pilates trained boxers before he even opened his first Pilates studio.…………that is why we think boxing in a pilates studio is perfection. How to prepare
Núcleo provides small towels, a filtered water dispenser, and one shower/bathroom. For rowing classes, or any fusion class involving rowing, please bring clean running shoes. You do not need to bring your own mat—pilates and yoga mats are provided.
How to get there
Núcleo Fitness is located at 862 Eglinton Ave E, Suite 203. The studio is on the 2nd floor above Shoeless Joes. From the street entrance door (marked #862) go up the stairs, turn left and walk to the end of the hall. Metered parking is available on Eglinton during weekdays between 9:00am & 4:00pm and on Saturdays. FREE parking is available on Eglinton after 6:00pm & all day Sunday. FREE parking is also available in the Canadian Tire lot on the Southeast corner of Eglinton and Laird, or on the side streets in the neighborhood.
