About this class

A fun challenging 60 minute total body workout experience for all age groups & fitness levels. Our signature introductory class that focuses on getting you comfortable on the board, breakdown of stroke technique and activation of your core to enhance your paddle boarding experience. Learn how to improve your speed, power and maneuvering skills with strength and balance exercise while stationary & in full motion. You’ll be jumping for joy on your board before you know it! Perfect for those wanting a refresher on fundamentals and Hey Paddle newbies.

How to prepare

Please wear comfortable clothing you are willing to get wet. They also recommend you wear rubber soled shoes like flip flops to help you transition in & out of the water, but you will be barefoot during class. They provide boards, life vests & a paddle. They also have a place for your keys & phone. Your water & shoes can be secured on the board. Other than that, all you'll need to provide is a positive attitude & high energy. Please note reservations close 15 minutes in advance.

How to get there

Please meet at the boat ramp directly across from the Austin High School track off of Stephen F Austin Drive, between the Texas Rowing Center and Cesar Chavez. There is free parking after 6p and on Saturdays along the trail on Stephen F. Austin Drive. SUNDAY CLASSES: Meet at the boat ramp on East Ave behind the Holiday Inn on the northwest side of Lady Bird Lake and 35. There is free parking along the trail on Sundays.

Kat is awesome! I've never been on a SUP before and this class is indeed perfect for a first-timer, or anyone who needs a little more time getting comfortable on the board. I loved that we did some core work, well, all the time on the board was core work! I highly recommend this class!
