Lyra Level 1 at Fighting Gravity Fitness LLC
About this class
If you have never tried Lyra, this class is for you! Focusing on beginner poses, entrances and exits in the hoop, drilling repetition and even-sided training. Students should be getting a lot of time in the hoop repeating moves. Prerequisites: Suggest Lyra Conditioning Class in order to build strength required for the Lyra classes. Requirements to progress to Lyra 2: Must take at least 1-5 Lyra level 1 classes or have the ability to hold an engaged hold for 2-3 seconds, get in and out the hoop safely with either a straddle, Delilah or tuck entrance/exit, and hang in a double knee (Hocks hang) with no hands. You will be restricted to sign up for Level 2 until you have taken Level 1 first. If you are an experience Lyra student coming from another studio, you may call 804-355-3700 to request to be put in the Lyra 2 class based on your ability.

How to prepare
Please wear comfortable athletic attire. In Aerial Yoga (hammock) classes, wear a shirt that has a sleeve to cover the armpits, please no tank tops or short shorts. Remove all jewelry, watches, or anything that could snag the hammocks before class. Use only socks with the grips. Socks are sold in the studio if needed. Please, no late arrivals, since measuring hammock height is required, and each class starts with a relaxation. In our Bungee Fitness classes, workout shoes are required. No shorts. Bring water. Absolutely no late arrivals.
How to get there
Fighting Gravity Fitness is located at 1911 (Studio A) or 1913 (Studio B) W. Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23220, near Shyndigz Restaraunt in the "Fan" area. Street parking or rear parking lot accessible with rear door entrance.
