About this class

Qigong (also spelled Ch''i Kung) is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy (qi). Qigong practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind. In the past, qigong was also called nei gong (inner work) and dao yin (guiding energy). • EHS Pilates observes a 12-hour cancellation policy for Group Classes. • All Group Classes run on a 50-minute hour. • If only one (1) client is signed up for a group class, it is trainer’s discretion to run a 1/2 hour private session. • If client is 25 minutes late to any scheduled class without notification it will be considered a late cancellation. Tips for new clients: • Arrive a few minutes early to your first session. • Please wear comfortable workout clothes. Socks are required. • Please bring your own water bottle. We have a hydration station.

Great class! Thanks, Ryo! We covered a three types of animal qigong; bear, tiger, and crane. I made it a point to remember to keep a slight bend in my knees at all times to help facilitate stability. We also practiced a qi gong exercise where we shifted our awareness of the qi flowing from our lower body to the upper body while slowly taking steps.
