About this class

This is where it all starts! The mat is the core of the Pilates method. The "Pilates Method" is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve overall health. The Pilates Method includes exercises for every part of the body and applications for every kind of activity resulting in longer, leaner muscles. The objective is a coordination of mind, body, and spirit--something Joseph Pilates called "contrology." Mixed level group classes are appropriate for those with some prior Pilates experience and no injuries. You will be taking classes with others that have a variety of Pilates experience and variations will be taught for each level. Small props may be used in addition to the standing repertoire. • EHS Pilates observes a 12-hour cancellation policy for Group Classes. • All Group Classes run on a 50-minute hour. • If only one (1) client is signed up for a group class, it is trainer’s discretion to run a 1/2 hour private session. • If client is 25 minutes late to any scheduled class without notification it will be considered a late cancellation.  Tips for new clients: • Arrive a few minutes early to your first session. • Please wear comfortable workout clothes. Socks are required. • Please bring your own water bottle. We have a hydration station. Classes with only one attendee will run as a 30minute private at trainer’s discretion.

Blane is excellent. Clear cues, hands-on corrections, attention to form, wry sense of humor. I appreciate that the class follows a consistent pattern from week to week so that I can focus on honing form.
