About this class

When muscle meets yoga, Yoga Sculpt is born. Boost metabolism and build lean muscle mass as you move to upbeat tracks. You’ll combine free weights with CorePower Yoga 2 sequencing and cardio to intensify each yoga pose while mixing in strength-training moves like squats, lunges and bicep curls. See it in Action (https://vimeo.com/139247672). What to Bring: A bottle of water, a towel and a yoga mat. How to prepare

Please show up at least 10 minutes prior to class. Most CorePower Yoga studios will close the doors at the start of class because the instructors who check users in must teach, so you may risk getting locked out. Also, don’t forget your mat, towel and water! In case you forget, CorePower Yoga studios offer mat and towel rentals and bottles of water for purchase.

How to get there

They are located on the southeast corner of Fremont and Howard Street. The Fremont Street studio is easily accessible from Interstate 80.

Great motivating instructor.

Great workout, but wayyyyy too crowded. They make it so hot that I couldn't breathe at certain points. Locker situation is chaotic. Definitely make sure to bring a towel! I was upset that the front girl told me there's no water fountain to fill up my bottle, so I purchased one for $2. As soon as I walked in, I saw a fountain! Ugh!!

Amanda is the best teacher I've had at CorePower! I've taken upwards of 40 classes there and she truly is the best! Along with Teal and Ingrid. Amanda designs the most innovative routines that break from the typical corepower routine. To be honest, the classes have been pretty mundane and predictable recently. Amanda has peaked my love for sculpt and given me hope that the class can be exciting, new, and CHALLENGING. Quite a few teachers have been less than challenging recently and I appreciated Amanda's energy, playlist, and new exercises. All the teachers NEED to consult Teal, Ingrid, and Amanda on their routines and class design.

Very sweaty but didn't feel like a great workout overall. It was also way too crowded in the room - I couldn't do many of the exercises without hitting my neighbor or the wall.

Yoga Sculpt is a hybrid or combination of yoga postures (asanas) and strength training exercises using dumb bells set to an upbeat soundtrack. The class soundtrack for this class was a mix of pop and hip hop songs. Kaitlin was very upbeat and reminded me of a cheerleader. There were a number of poses that we did in class and it all happens in a flowing style with one savasana at the end of class, Upward facing dog (adho mukha svanasana) Downward facing dog (ardha mukha svanasana) Chaturanga dandasana pushups Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II) "Star pose" Ananda Balasana Savasana It was a challenging class. The studio has mirrors in the studio that we face as we practice.
