About this class

We offer Foundation classes on weekends as an introduction to the machine and workout for new clients. If you have a strong foundation, you can build anything on it. Our 40-minute Foundation class is a great place to start for those who are new to CORE40. If you are new to the studio, we strongly recommend that you take a Foundation class first so that you can get comfortable with our equipment, our 40-minute format and the fundamental exercises.  But don't let the name fool you into thinking this class is only for newbies. Veterans are welcome and will be challenged, we promise! You will definitely break a sweat as you strengthen, tighten, tone and stretch your body in this fun, intense, music-inspired group class.

How to prepare

WHAT TO BRING/EXPECT... • A towel, if desired (CORE40 is an ecoconscious organization and does not offer towel service due to the water wastage it creates). • A water bottle, which you can fill using our filtered water system. • Please wear anything you might feel comfortable doing yoga or running in. • The CORE40 workout is done wearing grip socks (recommended) or barefoot. We have grip socks for sale at the studio. • Expect a high intensity class!

How to get there

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY... Please arrive a few minutes prior to any class start time. Your spot will be held up to the minute class starts, then it may be given to a standby client. If it's your first class, you MUST arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the class start time, in order to get the machine rundown. If you do not arrive early, you will be asked to reschedule your first class, due to safety concerns. Refer to our FAQ section for more detail on our late arrival policy and other helpful info.

CORE40 Foundation with Jessica
This foundational level class helped me focus on getting the positioning correct and keeping my core stable.
CORE40 Foundation with Ines
Would have liked the instructor to offer more corrections as it was a foundation class. Felt like she wasnt giving all the first time students the same attention. Overall, class was tough but will give it another try with another instructor before making a full judgement.
CORE40 Foundation with Jessica
Challenging class but definitely not for beginners. The instructor went straight into the class without explaining the equipment or the poses.

Really great teacher!

I hardly got a workout at all. They should mention this class is for beginners. It certainly should not have been worth so many credits.
CORE40 Foundation with Ines
It wasnt as challenging as the ramped class and I hoped that she would have given me more individual attention on the poses
