About this class

Forrest Yoga is a deep, inspiring practice that integrates different styles of yoga to build strength, gain flexibility, and awaken the core. Its intent is to create a sense of liberation in one's body, along with a powerful sense of self. Forrest Yoga emphasizes: activating the core to become strong and centered; intentional and focused breathing to oxygenate the body and engage the senses; and creative and intelligent asana sequencing to invigorate the body and nourish the spirit. All bodies and all levels are welcome. This class is heated to 80-85 degrees.

How to prepare

NOTE: Be sure to bring your own mat. Rentals are available for $2. Wear comfortable clothes; clothes that are form-fitting may be best-suited as they will not hinder your movement through the poses; also clothes that are too revealing may feel awkward as you get your body into some interesting postures. Yoga props are available for you to use in each studio room. Please use a block, strap, or blanket as needed. If you are a new student, grab one of each so you can modify your practice as need

Forrest Yoga with Rachel
Great yoga class but a bit overcrowded. This style really works the core and has you engaging those muscles with your breathing. The 90 minutes passes by nicely and it’s not an overwhelming class for the duration. It’s nicely heated and could tone down on the incense for those who are a bit sensitive to scents.

Forrest yoga is a little slower paced than the other classes I’ve tried at CCY, but it was still a good sweat during the flow at the end.

Love this class. Only critique is TA distracts from my practice. I want to listen to my breath and body. Rachel is great at respecting that while giving helpful suggestions. TA feels more critical and distracting.

What is ClassPass?
