About this class

Ashtanga Yoga is a vigorous form of Hatha Yoga that follows a set sequence of postures (asanas), joined together through the synchronisation of movement and breath (vinyasa). It is often referred to as a moving meditation, helping students to become stronger and more flexible, while simultaneously calming the mind. In this class, you will be guided through the beginnings of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary series, including the Surya Namaskars (sun salutations), the standing sequence, and some of the seated postures, finished with a period of rest.

How to prepare

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can freely move in and arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the class. We have all the equipments in the studio available but if you like to bring your own mat, your welcome.

This class was incorporated classical poses into a smooth vinyasa sequence. The teacher is very attentive modifying poses to ensure everyone gets the best out of the class - because of this i found the class challenging and engaging.
