Mandala Vinyasa Krama at Breathe Together
About this class
Vinyasa means to place in a special way, Krama means to move the body intelligently, while mandala means “circle,” or “essence.” Like origami, or the Japanese art of folding, the body moves progressively, breath by breath, towards one or more apex postures, much like a conscious walk up an unexplored mountain path. A moving meditation utilizing historically early yoga-asana, innovative 19th century Krishnamacharya based yoga-asana and contemporary expressions of the practice we explore the wise use of vital energy, the notion of “one’s edge,” and how the practice itself is a moving metaphor for how we live our lives. Counter postures unfold the body for seated meditation. This class is for those with a pre-existing understanding of internal alignment and a love for yogic adventure. Advanced

How to prepare
In consideration of all teachers and students, please note that Breathe Together Yoga upholds a strict 5 minutes late policy. They suggest arriving early so you can settle into class. They offer rental mats for $2, but your mat is your place to practice, and they encourage having your own. If you are taking a hot class like hot vinyasa, hot tapas and power yoga, bring a towel. The studio rents towels, and they sell fantastic towels as well.
