About this class

Crowded class times are the 630PM's on the weeknights! Please bring a mat or a towel or you can rent them out at $3 each. The classic 26 posture 90-minute hot yoga class with the Body Temp touch. Our approach to Bikram is compassionate, friendly and encouraging. We do not yell nor force anybody into the postures. Instead we cue our poses to be more muscular and more appropriate for each individual's body. Most importantly, we encourage people to do what's right for their body in the moment. Yoga is a practice. Not a discipline.

How to prepare

Students should wear something light. You're going to sweat! Also remember to bring a mat and towel. If you don't have a mat or towel, you can rent them for $3 each at the studio. Please leave your valuables at home or in a secure place. We have locks available for rent. Body Temp Yoga is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Given the popularity of weekend Sculpt classes, there's going to be a lot of love in the room--meaning a lot of sharing the space. The Hot Sculpt classes are very crowded.

How to get there

You must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class time or you forfeit your spot and your reservation will be noted as a missed class. Please remember. There are 2 studios -- one is heated and one is unheated. The location of your class is in the Class Description. If you go to a class and something seems off then you're probably at the wrong studio. Note: The Renew studio is currently undergoing a seismic retrofit. The Body Temp Hot Yoga studio is located on the second floor above The Missing Sock Laundry.

Favorite studio on class pass

Nice class. Was my first Bikram and didnt realize how low key it is, way more slow stretching than an athletic flow, but thats clearly what its supposed to be. Teacher paid good attention to form but was a little flat

They play music in the class which I found a little distracting

This class should not be called Bikram as it did not follow the Bikram script. Most of the poses were followed but it lacked the energy that you find in a Bikram class.
Response from the studio:
Hi. Thank you for the feedback. Our approach to Bikram is very much against the "Bikram way." We don't yell. We don't force. We give space. Our cue-ing is more muscularly driven. We give people space. The energy of Bikram is aggressive and makes people ignore their body. The Bikram script is full of cues that encourage pushing, pain, and terrible joint position and organization. Summer's particular approach is a breath of fresh air giving the student a break from the onslaught of Bikram aggressiveness. And yes, we totally threw away the Bikram script. Dictators and yoga are a bad combination. Please forgive this response but it's an opportunity for us to really show our approach to Bikram. So I really appreciate the review.

Absolutely love BodyTemp! Everyone who works here is super relaxed but takes their yoga very seriously. Cant say enough good things about this studio. First time taking heathers class and she was awesome.

Ruth was very supportive!

Great instructor in Ruth, just what I needed.
Bikram 75 with Rikk
Awesome way to stretch out and loosen your joints with the heat combined with the movements! Sweaty never felt so good!
Bikram 75 with Rikk
This rating/review is specifically for Basic75. The most BORING yoga class ever. Absolutely not a workout nor did it provide any of the stretching+strength I wanted/needed. I'm pissed I wasted one of the just 10 classes/month CP allows for.
Response from the studio:
If you're using yoga for a workout then you should go to the power class or the yoga with weights class. This class is not described as a workout and certainly not described as having a strengthening component. Read the class descriptions and you'll be a lot happier with the end result and not feel like you wasted a class.

Great instructor
