About this class

Yin Yoga concentrates on keeping joints mobile while increasing flexibility. These tissues include the deep connective tissues of the body, ligaments, fascia, and the bones themselves. The Yin yoga is a deep and passive stretch. It assists in calming the nervous system, but at the same time increases the flow of energy in the body by breaking up stagnation. There are two things unique to Yin: long holds in poses, and the muscles stay relaxed. Yin is intended to compliment Yang, or Bikram, styles of yoga, which stretches and strengthens the muscle tissues of the body.

Yin Yoga with Heidi
Heidi was my instructor for Yin Yoga. This class is a bit different than Bikram or regular yoga classes. Most poses are done while lying on a mat and the room is darkened. Relaxing and a great way to stretch after a long week of workouts. The room is still hot due to the previous heated yoga class so bring water and a towel to cover your mat because you will indirectly sweat.
