2-DAY WEEKEND WORKSHOP WITH ADRIAN MCCAVITTSATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH, 1 TO 4 P.M.SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH, 3 TO 6 P.M.This two-day, all levels inversion workshop will take an in-depth look at the techniques necessary for proper alignment in inversions, including forearm stand and handstand, along with different variations in each inversion, such as tuck, straddle and full position. We will also examine the appropriate hand and shoulder placement, torso strength, and leg and hip intelligence necessary for negotiating inversions, as well as the mechanics behind more advanced movements such as press handstand.All movement possibilities will be offered with modifications and amplifications, so wherever you are in your practice, the workshop will be appropriate for you. To the extent to which the practitioner is ready, there will be specific instruction on advanced techniques and movements such as hollow backs and one-arm handstands and their many variations. We will have ample time to workshop personal movement goals, so feel free to bring your movement wish list and explore the endless possibilities.

How to prepare

Classes at AstaYoga follow a general routine that is vigorous- the more often you practice, the more familiar you will become with the flow. Our Basics classes offer more detailed instruction to get started, but a beginner's attitude is helpful and welcome in every class. The classes are heated to no more than 80 degrees. You will be trained in breathing techniques that stimulate the generation of organic sweat- the sweat you earn. We offer mats for rent ($2) and complimentary towels. Please arrive to class at least 5 minutes early.
