About this class

Aerial "Flying" Yoga Ages 12+Are you ready to "Just Relax & Fly?"Flying Yoga!!!You must arrive 10 minutes early to all aerial yoga classes so we can customize your hammock for your height. You will be denied entryto the class if you arrive after class has started. In this class, the aerial hammock is used like a prop to support the flyer and assist in proper pose alignment and spinal decompression. With your body weight partially (or at times fully) supported by the fabric, you have the opportunity to deeply relax and create greater flexibility and space within your body. What to Expect:Classes start slowly, progressing from using the hammocks to hold a little bit of body weight to using the hammocks to hold all of your body weight. The slow progression allows your body to become accustomed to the support of the fabric and to learn to trust your own strength and balance without fear of falling allowing a more relaxing version of traditional yoga poses. Some of the more challenging yoga postures such as deep backbends, lunges and inversions can be achieved with less effort and strain. Aerial poses and "swings" will give you the feeling of flying and the weightlessness of your body boosts your sense of calm and relaxation. What to wear/bring:Snug fitting shirt (nothing baggy as it gets tangled)Capri pants/tights/leggingsNo jewelry, lotions or heavy perfumesPlease keep your nails trimmed to avoid snagging the fabric. The silks REALLY absorb odors, so please observe proper personal hygiene and arrive showered and with deodorant as a courtesy to the next participantPhysical Restrictions:This class is intended for persons in good physical condition that are released by their physician to participate in physical activity. This class is not intended as physical therapy. Any injuries or rehabilitation considerations MUST be brought to the attention of the instructor. Please consult your doctor if you have any medical conditions that prevent you from inverting such as glaucoma or heart conditions. It is not recommended for women who are pregnant.Private Sessions are available to develop a therapeutic practice incorporating aerial yoga into your fitness schedule while taking your current medical limitations into consideration.

AERIAL "Flying" Yoga :: Level 1 & 2 with Blaire
Instructor was great but the receptionist outside was talking so loud outside the class the entire time that it ruined the class for me and other people I talked to after class. It was very distracting. Wish there was a wall to prevent the sound from coming in or at the very least a sign that says please be quiet while class is in session.
