How it works

About this class

This class will focus on the study of basic jazz techniques and integrating them with the flow of Contemporary Modern work. Throughout the class, we will explore the importance of weight shifting and breath in full bodied, stylized dance. Each week we will work with specific musicality and new phrase material while familiarizing dancers with their individual bodies to maximize their abilities and approach dance with confidence and joy.

Beginning Jazz with Lynn
Great class to get moving and your heart rate up! However, the teacher is super strict and doesn’t allow any deviation from her chosen technique. Can also be a little mean in her delivery of corrections.
Beginning Jazz with Suzy
I haven’t taken a jazz class in awhile and this brought me back the joy of dance! I think having some experience in jazz is helpful, but the teacher just wanted everyone to get what they needed out of the class. Overall, lots of fun!
Beginning Jazz with Lynn
I liked it a lot but felt like it went pretty fast! Also, routines are learned throughout a few weeks so if you come on the last week you’re Gona feel pretty lost (I sure did). Still fun though and you can watch other people who know it.
Beginning Jazz with Suzy
Not so beginners
Beginning Jazz with Suzy
Wish it was closer to the ballet classes here theres a level of specificity and rigor in form and technique (even of it means more drills) rather than fun choreography
Beginning Jazz with Suzy
I really like Suzy and the way she teaches
Beginning Jazz with Suzy
it could go slower and practice a few routines over and over as it currently has too many moves that they go through so you dont quite learn the foundation. overall, great class for having fun and sweating.
Beginning Jazz with Lynn
Great class but not for beginners. It was my very first dance class and I couldnt keep up :-/
Beginning Jazz with Suzy
Tough for a beginner but the class was fun and fast paced. Worked up a bit of a sweat.
Beginning Jazz with Stacey
