Candlelight Yin/Restorative at Ahimsa Yoga Studio
About this class
Deeply surrender in this candlelight yin/restorative class. This class is a perfect compliment to your "yang" style vinyasa practice. Yin focuses on postures that lengthen the muscles surrounding the hips, pelvis and lower back. Students typically hold these postures for 3-5 minutes per side in order to lengthen the connective tissue that surrounds the joints and increase its elasticity. The elasticity of their connective tissue diminishes with physical activity and aging, which makes Yin essential for injury prevention and joint health. Since a Yin Yoga practice often includes several long, seated forward bending postures, it also restores energy and calms the nervous system. Pure bliss.
