About this class
Pilates uses correct alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing, and flowing movement (the Pilates principles) to establish a perfect working body from the inside out. Pilates classes build strength, flexibility and lean muscle tone with an emphasis on lengthening the body and aligning the spine, rather than on bulking and shortening the muscles. Tracie’s classes focus on efficient muscle recruitment, control and range of motion, creating good alignment and appropriate movement for your body. Sounds serious huh? Rest assured her classes are fun (you need to engage your core to laugh so win/win!) and her enthusiasm and passion are infectious. She encourages her students to go within and work from the inside out, creating awareness and teaching techniques to take into their everyday life. Her aim is to have you leaving her class feeling mentally and physically revitalised and re-energised, educated and well aligned. How to prepare
You don’t need to bring anything beside your most authentic self. They provide FREE Yoga mats, all required equipment and also a cup of tea or water. You can bring your own water bottle to take into class and a towel if you need one. They also have one shower for your personal use after the class, if you would wish to use it. You are advised to arrive ten minutes before the class starts.
How to get there
Active Sanctuary Yoga is located near the corner of Dandenong road (Princess highway) and Williams Road in Prahran. It is in Suite 3 of the NCA building, go straight through the drive way and up the stairs. They have their own free customer parking behind the building (four spots only) and lots of free two and four hour parking in the side streets close by.
