Flexibility at Academy of Aerial Fitness
About this class
In class you will be training 3 types of flexibility. Static-active stretching is used to overcome the stretch reflex (the automatic tightening of a muscle when stretched, which relaxes after approximately 20 seconds) to coax a joint into a wider range of motion. Dynamic stretching is used to use increasingly dynamic movements through the full range of motion of a join. Static-passive stretching is used to assume the right position and make use of an external force (i.e. gravity, your flexibility coach) in order to stretch the muscles.

How to prepare
Please wear comfortable yoga or exercise clothes. Wearing slightly form-fitting clothing is advised so that the instructor may provide alignment cues and corrections.
