(No shame if you\u2019re the latter!)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But whether you have aspirations of improving your fitness, skyrocketing your career or embarking on another type of personal goal, just because you don\u2019t start that journey on the first of the year doesn\u2019t mean you still can\u2019t achieve it. In fact, even if you start a little late (say, a half-year later!), the improvements you\u2019re capable of making in your life are truly boundless.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to make a half year goal<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here, life coaches offer tips on ways to create the perfect, most achievable half-year goal. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Get right into the action<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It might be more comfortable for you to wait until June 1 to begin your half-year dream chasing, but according to life coach <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/janescudder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jane Scudder<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, if you\u2019re serious about achieving your goals, there\u2019s no better time to start than the present. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFirst and foremost, start considering the definition of a half-year, which is six months,\u201d Scudder says. \u201cThe last thing I want my clients do is think that they have to wait until the beginning of June to start if they are ready to achieve their goals in March. If you\u2019re ready to make a change, start tomorrow.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>&#8230;But don\u2019t just blindly jump into it<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, just because you\u2019re ready to start making changes in your life immediately doesn\u2019t mean you should start tomorrow if you don\u2019t have an actual goal pinpointed. \u201cSpend some time actually thinking about what it is that you want,\u201d Scudder explains. \u201cAsk yourself, \u2018In six months what to I want to accomplish?\u2019 or \u2018In six months, where do I want to be?\u2019 Let your mind wander and write it down.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What do you really, truly want to do? <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find out what you what\u2019s currently ailing you in your life and then narrow that focus. So instead of being healthier, translate that to numbers, like being able to lift a heavier amount at the squat rack or consuming more grams of fiber per day. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Determine how you\u2019ll measure success<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As NYC-based empowerment coach<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/author\/diane-passage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diane Passage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tells us, simply having a goal isn\u2019t the same as achieving it. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Checking in regularly to evaluate what&#8217;s working and what&#8217;s not is a great way to stay on track,\u201d she explains. \u201cIt allows you to make adjustments where necessary.\u201d If your goal is fitness- or health-related, make sure you\u2019re tracking your workouts and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/classpass.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/16\/what-to-do-when-you-hit-a-plateau\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">everything <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you eat\u2013\u2013and we do mean everything. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Create a buzzword<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When striving toward a particular goal, sometimes it helps to remind yourself why you started. And according to Katie Bennett, co-founder of life coaching company <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/alvcoaching.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ama La Vida<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, that recollection can be achieved in as little as one word.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI always recommend to my clients that they set a buzzword,\u201d she says. \u201cIt should be one or two words that encapsulate why you are working on your goal, and how you will feel once you achieve it. Put the word in places you will see it, like your bathroom mirror, to provide continuous inspiration.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Treat yo\u2019self <\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While achieving a personal, physical or professional goal is no easy feat\u2014and definitely requires some hard work on your part)\u2014taking breaks from your journey can help curb the temptation to give up when the going gets tough. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhether it\u2019s something small like getting your favorite meal or something bigger like a weekend away, assigning a reward to your goal helps you feel motivated to achieve it and also allows you the opportunity to recognize and celebrate yourself when you do,\u201d says Bennett. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Get inspired<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working tirelessly to accomplish a goal can feel isolating\u2013\u2013especially when you see friends indulging over fatty foods when you\u2019re trying to get healthy or hitting up a movie theater on a Sunday afternoon when you\u2019re working. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That said, it helps to know you\u2019re not alone in your dream-chasing.
