Once autumn comes around, we immediately start craving a hot beverage to hold and sip. And while most of the ones out there are certainly tasty, with all that added sugar they can put a dent in your efforts to eat healthful, nourishing foods. So, we’ve rounded up some healthy hacks on the quintessential beverages of the season:

Healthful Hot Chocolate
With four simple ingredients, this hot cocoa is a simple, delicious spin on the original. Plus, it’s super easy to make and we bet you already have most of these items on hand.

What’s in it:
1 cup milk (recipe calls for rice milk), 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp raw sugar, ¼ tsp vanilla extract, cinnamon (optional)

Dark Chocolate Protein Mocha
Full of that rich chocolate flavor, this drink won’t make you miss the sugar. The additional protein is an added bonus and also makes the drink extra thick and frothy.

What’s in it:
½ cup milk (any kind), ½ cup strongly brewed coffee, 1-2 tbsps cocoa powder, ¼ cup chocolate protein powder
