How to get started with livestream classes
1. Search for and book a class
You can easily search for livestream classes in the app by typing in the name of your favorite studio, searching by activity or using the new “livestream” filter in the ClassPass app. You’ll also see some recommendations right on your home screen.
Because you’re not headed to a physical location, this is your chance to explore different online workouts with studios around the world. Hot yoga session live from Paris? HIIT class streaming from Miami? Your ClassPass membership now brings you anywhere, at any time, to sweat with people in over 30 countries.
2. Set up your at-home workout space
A great way to establish consistency in your at-home workout routine is to have a room or area dedicated to exercise. To make sure you have enough room to jump, twist, squat, stretch and move, extend your arms and legs wide — you should be able to turn in a circle without knocking anything over.
Many ClassPass partners are streaming fitness workouts using platforms like Zoom, YouTube, Instagram Live and more. When you book a livestream class, all of the details will be shared with you through the app or via email. To make sure you have the best experience, set up your phone, laptop or device ahead of time so you don’t miss a beat (or a burpee).
3. Invite friends and family
Now more than ever, it’s important to stay connected with your loved ones. You’ve done virtual happy hour, now you can try taking a virtual class together. Invite friends and family near and far to join you in class.
4. Try different classes from yoga to HIIT and create a routine
This is your chance to check out that class you’ve always wanted to try but found an excuse to avoid. Now that everything is virtual, feelings of intimidation, doubt or fear of the unknown can be put at ease. Use this time to refresh your fitness routine and get out of your comfort zone.
Prioritize exercise by blocking out time on your calendar and planning your days around those blocks. Setting aside this time will help you to be more accountable and less likely to skip.
5. Dress to sweat
Just like any other workout, at-home workouts demand the proper attire to move as effectively as possible. Plus, dressing the part reminds you of your obligations to your workout (in case you get distracted).
Bonus: A fitness tracker is another wearable reminder to get moving!
6. Reward yourself
Committing to a fitness routine in any situation is hard, especially now. Set goals and rewards based on things like the number of times you work out in a week. This will help you stay on track and engaged in your at-home workouts.
